V-art: Journal of Fine Art is an academic journal published by the Department of Fine Art, Faculty of Visual Art and Design, Institut Seni Indonesia Padang Panjang twice a year. Abstract

The artist's experience in childhood with bullying and discrimination is the source of the expression of fear depicted in this work. This experience creates fear that makes artists worse off, reluctant to socialize, and withdrawn. This fear is used as an idea in the creation of paintings. The scope of experience is focused on poor social interactions at school. The form of work created uses a representational approach with changes in the form of distortion and transformation in a surreal style. The method of creation used is preparation, namely reflecting on and recalling the disturbing past. The next stage is the design stage, namely, making alternative sketches. The forming stage begins with the process of transferring the sketch to the canvas and ends with the painting process. After completing all these stages, the work is exhibited. The painting was made using the aquarel technique and the plaque technique. The materials used are acrylic paint and canvas. The creation of this work has resulted in five paintings entitled "Complaint," "Confused," "Response," "Self Opera," and "The Past."

Abstract

Self-introspection aims to make peace with oneself and improve oneself to improve the quality of life based on thoughts and feelings. This work is very important for the future so that the same mistakes, which lead to regret, are not repeated. The creation of this painting is an expression of having experienced mistakes made by not thinking about things that harm yourself or others. In the expressionist style, work is a representational form that uses the ideas of deformation and distortion. Method execution consists of two stages: planning and implementation. First, at the planning stage remembering bad events that disturb thoughts and feelings. Then proceed with the embodiment process, namely the work process starting from providing materials, installing canvas cloth, making canvas bases, and making background works, followed by the painting process to finishing. Once the work is framed, it is ready to be presented at the exhibition. This work resulted in five paintings: Regret, Me and My Mind, Endless Illusion, Reflecting, and Past Regrets.

Abstract

The Kerinci Rice Barn is the object of this printmaking. The Kerinci rice barn was chosen as the object of creation because its existence is already threatened with extinction. In fact, the philosophical value of the Kerinci rice barn is very noble and profound. This printmaking is made in a surreal style. The concept of distortion is used to make the work more surreal. The idea behind this work is to use the Kerinci rice barn as an idiom to express oneself through art. The stages of the method in this creation are: contemplation, prototype, and forming. This printmaking work combines the hardboard cut technique with the stencil technique. The media used are acrylic paints and oil-based printing inks on canvas. The creation of this work has resulted in a work entitled "Menabung". This work measures 100 cm x 100 cm.

Abstract

Problematics are obstacles or problems that must be solved; in other words, the problem is the gap between reality and something expected to work well to achieve maximum results. In everyday life, a person is never separated from various problems, one of which is the problems experienced while attending lectures. Problems arise from one's own negligence, resulting in self-defeating consequences. This is the basis for the creation of paintings. The form of the work presented is a two-dimensional work with an abstract style approach, emphasizing expressive and spontaneous lines using acrylic paint on canvas. The creation methods are preparation, observation, design, embodiment, and presentation. The creation of this painting has succeeded in producing five works entitled "Turbulence of problematic," "Red problematic," "Problematic attack," "Blue problematic," and "Wave control."

Abstract

Traumatized is a condition that occurs as a result of a bad event that befalls a person. Sexual harassment is any form of behavior that connotes or leads to sexual matters carried out unilaterally, causing adverse reactions such as shame, anger, hatred, and offense that occur to individual victims of harassment. This is an unpleasant incident that, if left unchecked, will become a destructive mental illness. This inspires the creation of works of art. The form of the work presented is a two-dimensional work with a decorative style approach and a combination of form abstraction, using acrylic paint as a medium and a combination of pastels on canvas. The method used is preparation: observing the surrounding environment affected by sexual trauma and looking for references related to the theme raised. Next is the design stage, which is to do a visual design or strategy. The placard and aquarel technique is used, combined with the dry technique using pastels. The next stage is the embodiment stage, namely the cultivation and exploration of techniques in work, starting from transferring alternative sketches and coloring to the finished work. The next stage is the presentation stage of the work being exhibited or presented to the public. The creation of this painting succeeded in producing five works entitled "Tak Berbatas," "Tempang," and "I am OK." Trauma adalah suatu kondisi yang terjadi akibat peristiwa buruk yang menimpa seseorang. Pelecehan seksual adalah segala bentuk perilaku yang berkonotasi atau mengarah pada hal-hal seksual yang dilakukan secara sepihak, sehingga menimbulkan reaksi negatif seperti rasa malu, marah, benci, tersinggung yang terjadi pada individu korban pelecehan. Kejadian ini merupakan kejadian tidak menyenangkan yang jika dibiarkan akan menjadi penyakit mental yang buruk. Ini menjadi ide dalam penciptaan karya seni. Bentuk karya yang dihadirkan merupakan karya dua dimensi dengan pendekatan gaya dekoratif, dengan kombinasi abstraksi bentuk, menggunakan media cat akrilik dan kombinasi pastel di atas kanvas. Metode yang digunakan adalah persiapan yaitu mengamati lingkungan sekitar yang terkena trauma seksual dan mencari referensi terkait tema yang diangkat. Selanjutnya adalah tahap desain, yaitu melakukan desain visual atau strategi. Teknik yang digunakan adalah teknik plakat dan aquarel serta dipadukan dengan teknik kering menggunakan pastel. Tahap selanjutnya adalah tahap perwujudan yaitu penggarapan dan pendalaman teknik dalam berkarya; mulai dari mentransfer sketsa alternatif, mewarnai hingga karya jadi. Tahap selanjutnya adalah tahap presentasi, yaitu tahap karya dipamerkan atau dipresentasikan ke publik. Penciptaan lukisan ini berhasil menghasilkan lima karya berjudul "Tak Berbatas", "Tempang", dan "I'm OK".

Abstract

Dandelion is a flower that comes from Europe and Asia. This flower can regularly release its seeds and is often considered a fruit. The flower head bears many florets, each producing a single seed. Each seed has a parachute that allows it to fly through the air. Five years ago, when still in school, became interested in dandelion flowers. It was the day of the rice harvest, and see the shape of a white ball being swayed by the wind on the edge of the rice fields. Some of the seeds are released and fly in the wind. This event looks so attractive. The approach used is the representational form approach. The techniques used are aquarel, placard, and impasto techniques. The method used is observation, design, and embodiment. First, direct observations were made in the Dandelion flower environment. Then do the design by sketching directly on the canvas. The next stage is the embodiment stage. Cultivation and exploration of techniques on the canvas are carried out until the work is finished. Finally, the presentation is done in the form of an exhibition. The creation of this work succeeded in producing five works entitled “Gelap Ramai,” “Cemas Untung Tenang,” “Cerah dalam Gelap,” “Bolak-Balik,” “Tenang diaduk Senang.”
